Things to remember

• The United Nations officially came into existence on 24 October 1945.
•  The headquarters of United Nations is in Manhattan, New York City.
• There are 193 member nations.
• Nepal also started taking part in UN activities and  started advocating about world peace and stability.
• The organization won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2001.
•  Nepal played a key role while passing special report on discrimination on color base.
• UN played significant role to drive Nepalese peace process in to logical end. 
• Nepal has always supported the decision and resolutions of UN for the cause of peace and security in the globe.
• Nepal has established the UN Regional Centre for peace and disarmament in Asia and the Pacific in Kathmandu.
