Overview

It is a condition in which the central columnar epithelium protrudes out through the external OS of the cervix, onto the vaginal portion of the cervix. It is also known as ectropion. Causes of Erosion of the cervix are Contracting chronic infection, Unusual Ph balance, Increased in estrogen level and Trauma. Signs and symptoms are Difficulties in urination, Lower abdominal cramp, bleeding, Pain or bleeding during intercourse, includesBack pain and Increased vaginal discharge/ leucorrhoea. It's measures of trincludeDiathermy, Cryocautery, Infection prevention by use of prophylactic antibiotics and Post- operative advice.

Signs and symptoms

  1. Difficulty in urination
  2. Lower abdominal cramp, bleeding
  3. Pain or bleeding during intercourse
  4. Back pain
  5. Increased vaginal discharge/ leucorrhoea

Diagnosis

  1. History taking
  2. Physical examination
  3. Cervical biopsy

Treatment

  1. Diathermy
  2. Cryocautery
  3. Infection prevention by use of prophylactic antibiotics
  4. Post- operative advice

Prevention

1. Raise the foot end of the bed and keep the patient warm

2. Give oxygen as per as patient need

3. Give IM pethidine 100 mg and diazepam 10 mg

4. Encourage to patient to do blood test (hemoglobin, grouping, cross match)

5. Start Iv infusion with 5% dextrose to maintain hydration

6. Transfuse the blood according to need

  • Transfuse the blood as necessary
