Overview

Heat rash, sometimes referred to as miliaria and prickly heat, affects people of all ages. Even while heat rash is frequently seen in infants, it can also happen to adults, especially in hot, humid weather. It happens when perspiration becomes trapped under your skin as a result of blocked sweat ducts, also known as pores. The symptoms might range from little blisters to large, red masses. Some types of heat rash might itch terribly bad or feel prickly. Heat rashes are brought on by extreme heat or warmth. Blisters and bumps (papules) that are clear and fluid-filled and easily breakable red blotches, The symptoms of heat rashes include an itchy or prickly sensation in the affected area, little or no sweating in those locations (anhidrosis), and a heat rash that resembles dots or tiny pimples.

Symptoms

    • Heat rashes can form on the head, neck, and shoulder of young children.
    • Clothing may aggravate the rash's affected regions, or a secondary skin infection may form.

  • Put on loose clothing.

Heat rash treatment includes: There is no need for special treatment; the body will heal itself.

  • Can alleviate symptoms
  • Take off any restrictive clothing.
  • Allow the skin to dry instead of using a towel to do so.
  • Calamine lotion can be applied to the affected area.

Preventive education for families

  • Suggest to the mother that her children wear light, loose clothing.
  • They should try to keep children cool and properly wash them.
