The well-known NGO Sunaulo Parivar Nepal (SPN), founded in 1994, provides family planning and sexual and reproductive health services all over the nation through centers, mobile outreach teams to distant areas, and social marketing. It collaborates with Marie Stopes International UK (MSI), a global humanitarian enterprise with the goal of upholding people's fundamental right to have children voluntarily rather than by accident.

Goal

  • Prevent unwanted birth to ensure every birth is wanted amongst all segments of the population including poor, marginalized and rural  communities. 

Programmes run by the SPN:

  • Static centres to provide full range of FP and safe abortion services: Marie Stopes  Centre
  • Regular outreach general health checkup camps
  • Choice Camps: Mobile sterilization and long acting reversible methods camps.
  • Contraceptive Social Marketing (CSM)
  • Reproductive Health Training (RHTC)
  • Youth Friendly Service Centre (YFSC)

Services

  • Access to Sexual Reproductive Health services is essential to the achievement of the Millennium Development goals to end world poverty, social injustice and ill health. All of its work is aimed at helping to achieve these goals.
  • It actively supports gender equality and the empowerment of women through increasing awareness of their choices information and access to services
