Regional senior public health nurse (PHN) job description is a position in the regional health service directorate. Responsible to the regional health director and in charge of two sections. She works in the promotion of community health and disease control as an administrator, supervisor, researcher, facilitator, counselor, and evaluator. Recommends personnel recruitment, transfer, rotation, and deputation based on the needs of the regional zonal district hospital, district health office, PHC centers, and health post. Supervisory activities, reporting and recording activities, clinical activities/filed activities, communicative / facilitative activities, counselling activities, and evaluative and staff activities are among the other activities.

Functions

  • Administrative activities
    • Participate in disease control maternal, paternal, and child health program planning, organization, and implementation.
    • Recommends recruitment, transfer, rotation, and deputation of concerned personnel in accordance with the needs of the regional zonal district hospital, district health office, PHC centers, and health post.
    • As needed, makes recommendations for promotion, reward, and punishment.
    • Maintain coordination and cooperation with other members of the team.
    • Participate in a public service commission examination for staff recruitment.
