Overview

The public health nurse works in the district health office and is classified as non-gazetted first class. DHO, DPHC, SR.PHN,ANM, ANW, MCHW, TBA, FCHV, and other health personnel are all responsible. As a clinic implementor, educator, supervisor, researcher, facilitator, counselor, and evaluator, a public health nurse is responsible for disease prevention, promotion of health, and maintaining a minimum standard level of health. The function of the public health nurse is to organize and conduct the MCH/FP clinic on a regular basis, to conduct the outreach clinic on a regular basis, to conduct school health activities on a regular basis, and to assist in various health camps throughout the district. Supervisory activities, reporting and recording activities, clinical activities/filed activities, communicative/facilitative activities, counseling activities, and evaluative and staff activities are examples of other activities.

Roles

Functions

  • Clinical / Field activities
  1. Organize and carry out the MCH/FP clinic on a regular basis.
  2. Organizes the outreach clinic.
  3. Maintain a regular schedule of school health activities.
  4. Assist at various health camps throughout the district.
